The Université catholique de l'Ouest (UCO) is one of the oldest universities in the west of France and
is a key player in the French higher education and research system of today.
As a pluridisciplinary university open on the world, it offers to as many as 12000 students and trainees more than 100 different trainings up to PhD in its 6 faculties :
- Law, Economy, Management (Law, Economy, Management, labour sciences, human resources management, consulting, tourism management)
- Education
-Humanities (arts, literature, langage, history, information-communication)
-Human and Social Sciences (psychology, sociology)
-Sciences (Biology – environment, Mathematics-computer sciences, Science and technology of physical activities and sports)
-Theology and religious sciences

- MASTER ECOLOGY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
prepare students to become environment managers for:
- conservation in national parks with environmental associations or state organizations
- Management of natural and anthropized environments
- Sustainable urban planning for private and public construction projects
- Sustainable management in private companies to improve or implement sustainability practices
